With the summer holidays now in
full swing training sessions have been reduced to 6pm to 7pm
for all grades.
Normal training sessions will resume in

With the recent great weather we
are fortunate to be able to use the grounds of our
training venue for some outdoor training

Congratulations. All those attempting their
next grade passed successfully.
Once again the standard
was high, as was the spirit of those attempting their
grading.
With almost 110 students grading, 6 grading areas
were in use at all times, and the hall resounded to the loud
kiais from all particpants
June
Student of the Month for the
lower grades was David Lichtenstein, with
Logan Slevin receiving the award for the
higher grades
Saturday 25th
Well done to all those that took part in the demonstration
at the school fete. Lots of positive feed back from those that
watched. A credit to both the club and the Association! Next
week, grading day!
Once again we are to perform a
demonstration at Mount Pleasant JMI school fete on Saturday
25th June. Nearly all students have agreed to take part, and
are busy rehearsing for this as well as preparing for the july
grading.

Student of the Month for the
lower grades was Harry Helliwell, with
Christopher Hill receiving the award for the
higher grades
Now that Easter and the Royal
Wedding have passed, all students are working hard towards the
next grading in July.

Student of the Month for the
lower grades was Andrew Martin, with
Zac Demetriou receiving the award for the
higher grades
Sunday 10th was
the Association Spring Course which once again focused on tips
and techniques for both individual and team kata as well as
kumite, to help students prepare for the forthcoming
tournament in May

Student of the Month for the
lower grades was Noah Lichtenstein, with
Sophie Thomas receiving the award for the
higher grades.
All students passed their grading
on Saturday with flying colours, with both Chief Instructors
commenting again on the consistent high standard that was
shown across all grades. Congratulations to everyone on a
successful grading,
With the association tournament now
just 8 weeks away, students will be starting to prepare for it
with coaching for both kata, individual and team, and also for
the kumite events.
12th March is
grading day with many of the students expected to be
attempting their next grade and passing with flying
colours

Along with working towards their
next grade, our higher grade students are also learning the
Dojo Kun, in Japanese.

7th
The club resumes its training
after the Christmas break.
January also saw our biggest
intake for sometime, of people interested in trying karate,
with 5 becoming members and currently working towards their
first belt.
